Keeping your pets safe at Christmas

Do not leave unattended food or drinks lying around, remember foods like onions, garlic and chives; all found in stuffing, Christmas pudding chocolate, nuts, mince pies and alcohol can be dangerous to dogs.

Pine needles from your Christmas tree can be dangerous to pets if swallowed or can injure them if embedded into their skin  or paw pads.

Consider popping bottles of alcohol such as champagne and prosecco in a separate room from your pets and Christmas crackers as these can make a loud ‘popping’ sound and cause them to panic.

Be mindful to keep Christmas decorations out of reach of our pets, cats, small furries such as rabbits and guinea pigs and dogs may like to chew on the tinsel or Christmas lights which can cause them serious harm.

Remember to enjoy the festive period and celebrate with your loved ones and furry family members too as they aren’t just for Christmas… they’re all for life.

Enjoy the festivities and have a furtastic time.

Sending lots of love from Paws & Pooches.
